Honestly, I could run a lot of what I have on the 2000ME OS. And, not to beat a dead horse, but why "fix" something if it isn't broken? And don't try and sell me on the "You'll have to upgrade at some point," garbage. It reminds me of Mac in the sense that its control over your OS seems to come with the intrinsic assumption that you are a 3rd-rate idiot who doesn't need to be playing with the 1's & 0's. and without Win10's odd registry confusion with certain companies plugins (admittedly, partially the fault of the companies, but it doesn't happen with Win7,) the need to tell you that you can't place certain files (especially anything Program related,) where you want, as it's not "proper," ruining sessions by updating whenever it wants despite what settings I have it on.and don't get me started on Edge and all the other half-useable garbage that they force you to use (try using another PDF reader as a default, I dare you.) I could go on for days, but basically, as someone who doesn't like being told what to do, Win10 is a nightmare. Any plugins/VSTs/programs, new or old runs just fine on Win7Ult. Do not follow this guide if: You are not an experienced user You need to use a Microsoft Account for any reason (outside of your web browser) You need to download anything from the Windows Store (including distros for the Linux subsystem if you want to use it) You need to add/remove user accounts to your PC (new accounts will not work properly) You're doing this at your own risk, I am not responsible for any data loss or damage that may occur. Last update: JanuImportant: This procedure cannot be reversed without reinstalling Windows. Most of it seems pretty legit stuff when telemetry is set to basic, but still, if you don't trust them, here's how to prevent Windows 10 from sending your data to Microsoft. In response to these concerns, Microsoft released a document explaining exactly what data they collect, and now Windows 10 even has a Diagnostic Data Viewer. Windows 10 has raised several concerns about privacy due to the fact that it has a lot of telemetry and online features. i hope you don't care about it, but for me it's just incessantly irritating. After another windows update i was searching for a way to disable gamedvr service and found this insanely useful, treasure-like article about manually disabling most of the crap that windows has.
